Conservation Programs

National Resource Conservation Service (NRCS)

USDA provides assistance to private landowners and for production of agriculture. In effort to preserve soil, water, and repair excessive weather-damaged farmlands, programs also provide financial assistant. These programs include:

• National Resources Conservation Service (NCRS):Animal Feeding Operations (AFO)

Assistance for owners and operators using comprehensive nutrient management plans (CNMPs). Each plan is site-specific, voluntary, focuses on nutrients, water quality, conservation, and is integrated with management activities.
